What does a professional organiser do?
A professional organiser uses their expertise and knowledge to enhance your life, restore balance and achieve your organisational goals.  Each organisational issue is different as is the solution.  We will work with you to find a customised solution or system, and along the way share our expertise and organising skills so you too can not only be organised but learn the skills as well.

Work with you or without you?
This is entirely up to you and during our consultation together we will discuss which parts of the project, if any, are best suited to not having you around.  I must say though where possible you will benefit from working in conjunction with us as we will impart our organising skills and knowledge along the way.

Where do we start and how do I prepare for your first visit?
The first step in the process begins with the first session where we have a detailed consultation to discuss your organising goals and objectives.  We will then create a strategy for the space and then following that we start organising.

In terms of how to prepare the answer is usually to do nothing.  When you make an appointment I have a document that I will send you which will answer this question in more detail.  If you are feeling embarrassed or concerned as to what I might see then please do not worry.  As a professional organiser I have seen most things and I am not there to judge you in anyway.

How long will it take?
As every organising challenge is different it is difficult to estimate without understanding or seeing the full situation.  During the consultation we will be able to give you a more accurate estimate of how long we expect it will take.  Each clients needs are unique.   Some clients often just need someone to help them get started and can then finish the job themselves.  Others prefer to work with an organiser from the start to the end of the project.

Will you make me get rid of things?
This will be entirely up to you and we will not do anything without your permission.  What we will do is guide you through the decision making process as part of getting you organised and sometimes ask you some tough questions.  Overall though think about it as being focused on what you will have and NOT about the items you will move on!

 

Do you travel?
The answer is yes and we are happy to travel to where you need us. Based in Moonee Ponds we will travel to most locations across greater and outer Melbourne.  If you live outside this area we are happy to make arrangements with you to either travel or conduct a virtual consultation.  Please feel free to give us a call to discuss your needs.

What are the costs?
Is not being organised currently costing you in terms of physical and mental anguish and may have been doing so for a long period of time?  Hiring a professional organiser will assist you to let go of this anguish and allow you to be more in control.  We offer packages with hourly rates and the total cost will be determined by the number of hours required.  The time required varies and depends on many variables including:

  • the space being organised
  • the items in that space
  • your involvement during and in between sessions.

What if I can’t afford to get you to assist me for the entire project?
There are a variety of options available including putting together an action plan and teaching you some of the tips and techniques we use over a shorter period of time.  That way you can then tackle the project yourself.

We can always start in one area of the home and then you can take the next steps.

Cancellations/Rescheduling
When a booking is made we are asking you to commit to the process of getting organised.  At the same time we are committing to assist you with this process.  Therefore if you need to cancel or reschedule we require a minimum of 24 hours notice otherwise a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Payments
Are required either prior to or on the day of service and can be made by cash or direct deposit.  The only exception to this is if it is a prepaid package.

Insurance
We have both public and product liability insurance for your peace of mind.
